Summary : Very impressed and intend to purchase another
I know I'm only going to be the second to give it 5 stars, but this was compared to a WVC54 that I was previously using. I really enjoy the PTZ feature, the ability to view the camera through the internet and the ability to allow more than just a couple people to view this camera at one time.

Now... The issues...

The camera requires an "Active X" that for whatever reason Microsoft WILL NOT allow me to down load. I've tried numerous times, but ol' Billy Gates decided I don't know what is best for me and my computer... I ended up having to download Firefox to view the camera. The software on the disk did not solve the problem. The reason for this is the certificates are expired (as of Feb 2010). This is due to a problem on Linksys website.

I love the quality of the camera, the image and the versatile of the camera. I would recommend it, but be prepared for some setup. I wish I could give my opinion with having never used a camera, but I knew what to do with having had two previous Linksys cameras. I have changed my existing TZO account to reflect the settings on this camera (or changed the settings on this camera to match the previous camera, I don't remember) but I'm able to view it with no problem at my [...] account.

Some of the things that I wish was changeable is: the "steps" for up/down left/right could be changed to more or less of a movement.

As a side note. I think you must use the camera via Cat5 cable connection to make any setup changes. I've tried logging in numerous times, but am only successful when I attach the cable. I also was not able to view either camera through a Black Berry (Storm or Curve). I have NO problem viewing any of my Linksys camera's through my iPhone.

Summary : Works Well
This Cisco Webcam works well for me. Once set up it works very reliably. I use it to monitor my driveway and cul de sac and it works well whether I am in my house or traveling across the country. Support for Video, Pictures and RTSP streaming makes it useful from almost any device.

Like many cameras, the motion detection capability is touchy. I can't quite get it set up to catch the motion I want.

Most of the time I access this device with Ubuntu Linux and this cam works fine with Linux, Windows or Apple OSX.

Summary : Great product, but not what I had hoped for
The reason I purchased two of these was to be set up at the house and to be able to observe the house while I was away. To get this to work externally was so difficult that I still don't have it completed. You have to set up DDNS on your router, get an external DDNS subscription to make your address always accessable. But, again, i still couldn't get access to this externally. Please hlep with any ideas if you know how I can get this to work. Thanks, Mark

Summary : Wireless Internet Camera by Cisco WVC210
This is the newest model. If money is an issue go with the WVC200, the improvements are not that significant. Both models have an email notification which is totally NON functional. When Cisco support was contacted, their help was non existent on the problem. Their solution was, "it is your ISP problem," with NO troubleshooting effort on their part whatsoever. This is uncommon for Cisco, MOST of their support is acceptable. Must be all these cost cutting efforts that we end users get to suffer with. These cameras are classified as Small Business equipment as opposed to Consumer end users. Make sure you purchase the correct model sometimes the model number is obscured

Summary : dissappointed
I saw the options and the maker of this camera and thought wow - a great deal from a reputable company.

I was sadly mistaken. the camera software was very lacking. the camera controls were very jerky. the low light quality was terrible. the audio (in/out) was very poor. the ftp application would not work. i returned it.

kudos to Amazon for handling my refund so cleanly!

it is a great design idea, but the saying you get what you pay for is true. I will save my pennies for a canon c60(it actually works as advertised but it cost a lot more)...

thanks
